What is contributing to all this golfing success you wonder? Portugal is not new to golf. The first golf course in Portugal was built in 1920 and followed soon by the Sir Henry Championship course, bringing professional golf to Portugal nearly 100 years ago! During this period golf courses in Portugal progressed considerably, and in the Algarve alone more than 40 golf courses with championship layouts can be found. Many courses today are surrounded by luxury resorts and five star restaurants, bars and an international social buzz. This is where beautiful homes can also be found for lovers of the sport and those contemplating taking it up.  

Quinta do Lago - the most luxurious residential area in Portugal, set amongst pine trees, and salt water lakes is on the edge of the Ria Formosa nature reserve. As well as golf, this is an ideal area for walking trials, beaching and bird watching. Along with designer shopping, fine dining and entertaining essentials. 

Vale do Lobo - considered the biggest golf and beach region in the Algarve, Vale do Lobo has everything a luxury home owner or holidaymaker could need close by, but at slightly more conservative budgets.  

Vilamoura and Quarteira - Found within the Algarve's Golden Triangle area, and also popular for brilliant golfing, as are areas further east, most are between just a 20 - 40 minute drive from Faro International airport.
