Algarve Property Business Partnership Built On Friendship

Algarve Property Business Partnership Built On Friendship

A strong friendship between two well-known overseas property company bosses has now grown into a business partnership.

Chris White, owner of boutique estate agency Ideal Homes Portugal and Peter Emerson Jones, of top developer The Emerson Group, met years ago through their involvement in the overseas property sector and became friends.

Now they have formed a business partnership to help promote Portuguese property – the second announced by Ideal Homes Portugal in the last few weeks, which is currently looking to sell some beautiful villas in the Algarve.

As well as luxury villas, investors could buy a whole lakeside village in the Algarve for €4million.

The new partnership involves Jones Homes, one of The Emerson Group’s three main divisions, which builds prime residential properties in the UK and in Portugal and Ideal Homes Portugal.

Mr White says, “I am thrilled to announce the new partnership between Jones Homes and Ideal Homes Portugal, which will see the Algarve opened up to UK buyers like never before.

“Finding and purchasing your dream second home in Portugal is now easier and swifter than it has ever been and I am delighted that Jones Homes and Ideal Homes Portugal are working together to make that happen.”

The Emerson Group, founded in 1959 is one of the biggest privately owned property development companies in the UK specialising in leisure, residential and commercial developments.

In Portugal, the focus is on the southernmost Algarve region, which is popular with second home owners looking for sea, sunshine and a relaxed pace of life.

Investors with €4million to spare can buy an entire lakeside village. Funcho Village is located in a stunning rural setting and is ripe for development as a tourist resort, says Ideal Homes Portugal.

The village’s revitalisation has been approved by the Portuguese government, with permission granted (subject to approval) for a hotel, log cabins and a full range of support services including restaurants, water sports facilities, a dry ski slope and an observatory.

The village was last occupied in 1974 when the valley was dammed for water storage, and as younger people no longer wanted to work the land as their ancestors did, the village was vacated.

The lake, now surrounding the village due to the flooding of the valley and the rolling hills, still produce some of best unspoilt flora and fauna in the Algarve.

The National Government of Portugal has now approved the revitalization of Funcho Village.  The local camara (chamber) at Silves is eager for a project of this type, reviving old traditions and skills and giving local people employment and the chance to see the old village brought back to life, the agent says.

Chris White has been in the international property industry for around a decade. “In that time, I’ve worked with some of the most successful people in the business and helped hundreds of people find their perfect home in the sun.

“Three years ago, I decided to start my own company, Ideal Homes Portugal. I wanted to build a boutique agency where I could work alongside a team of passionate individuals who share my enthusiasm to provide unbeatable service.

“We’re devoted to finding the best properties – at the best prices – for our clients – and with the GBP / EUR exchange rate hitting 1.39, homes in the sun are more affordable than ever.”

Ideal Homes Portugal recently announced a partnership with Hamptons. “Portugal has been our passion for a long time and I am delighted to announce that we are now teaming up with Hamptons in order to make the Algarve accessible to even more UK buyers. The purpose of the partnership is to help UK buyers to find their dream Portuguese property even more easily and ensure that a second home (or indeed a life overseas) is achievable for those who wish for it,” Mr White says.
